Boubah’s opened on St. Clair in 2004 and has since made quite an impact on the community it serves. The store sells fish and reptiles, but it also offers a popular adoption program for people who have found litters of kittens, whose dogs accidentally have pups, or who simply can’t care for their pets any longer. According to co-owner Llewellyn Accam, if you spend any time in the shop after 2:30pm on a school day, you might mistake Boubah’s for a community centre. There are so many kids in the area who are eager to help care for the as-yet-to-be-adopted pets, there’s no shortage of attention for the dogs and cats who end up at Boubah’s

Natural Noshing for Your Pets:
As far as food goes, the focus is definitely on all-natural and holistic diets. You won’t find no-name kibble and puppy chow at Boubah’s. The store does a ton of research on the products it carries to ensure your pets are getting nothing but high-quality nutrition from natural sources. If you’re looking for something specific and can’t find it on the shelves at the shop, just ask. Boubah’s prides itself on its motto of “if we don’t have it, we’ll find it!”
All the Accessories:
Boubah’s also carries beds, toys, leashes, clothing, carriers, crates and a slew of natural remedies for common ailments like fleas, ear problems, skunk run-ins, anxiety issues, and even the propensity to eat poo while out on walks! Shampoos are equally organic, so they won’t strip oils or dry out your pet’s skin. Last, but not least on their list of services, is pet grooming. If you don’t have the time to trim and primp your pet, bring him into Boubah’s, but be sure to call ahead. Saturdays can be busy at the shop, with customers often lined up outside a glass viewing window to watch staff pamper their pets.
